Development analysis
What changed, why it matters, and what leaders should watch.
What changed
Piedmont Advantage Credit Union members approved the proposed merger with Truliant Federal Credit Union at an August 25 special meeting, and the organizations are scheduled to combine legally on September 1. Piedmont Advantage will operate temporarily as a Truliant division while operational and system integration proceeds through the end of the first quarter of 2027. The combined organization is expected to serve more than 355,000 members, operate more than 40 locations, and hold about $6 billion in assets; existing Piedmont Advantage branches, digital banking, and support channels remain available during the transition.
Loyalty and rewards implications
This is a sizable member-experience integration window, not merely a back-office event. Conversion planning should protect card spend, rewards balances, digital-wallet provisioning, direct deposits, and personalized offers while members move between brands and systems. Cyder can use this as a sales trigger for a migration journey that rewards activation and engagement without forcing a disruptive platform replacement.
