Editorial methodology
How FI Loyalty turns developments into credible intelligence.
The methodology is designed to protect usefulness, distinguish evidence from interpretation, and make uncertainty visible.
Purpose
FI Loyalty interprets financial-services developments through a loyalty, customer-engagement, relationship-growth, and sustainable-economics lens. It is not a generic or real-time news service.
Coverage
The primary geographic focus is the United States and Canada. Coverage prioritizes credit unions and banks while including relevant fintech, payments, card, merchant, loyalty, regulatory, and research developments.
Selection
Candidate developments are screened for relevance to customer behavior, loyalty strategy, financial relationships, or program economics. A normal weekly edition contains approximately five developments, but three-item thin weeks are valid and filler is not added.
Interpretation framework
Approved analysis uses five core components: What changed, Why it matters, Growth and loyalty implications, What leaders should consider, and Evidence and limitations. Approved Major and Relevant analyses also include Executive Action. Pierry's take and What to watch are optional.
Executive Action
Executive Action is FI Loyalty analysis, not a factual claim from the source. The decision, team question, tests, and measures are practical recommendations or hypotheses. What would change my view makes the evidence threshold explicit by showing which signals would strengthen or weaken the interpretation. Executive Action content receives human editorial review before publication.
Facts and analysis
Confirmed facts and source-reported claims are separated from FI Loyalty interpretation. Potential growth outcomes are described as possibilities unless credible evidence demonstrates that they occurred.
Evidence
FI Loyalty records source origin, the relationship of the source to the claim, the role the source plays, and the overall evidence posture. Company-reported outcomes are not presented as independently verified.
Editorial significance
Internal significance labels are Major, Relevant, and Monitor. A Major designation requires explicit human approval. These labels are editorial judgments, not evidence-quality scores.
AI use and human review
AI may assist with discovery, structuring, classification, summarization, and drafting. AI-generated analysis is not published automatically. Final weekly selections, material claims, interpretations, strategic considerations, and Pierry's take require human review.
Freshness and limitations
Dates, retrieval status, source access, and known limitations are retained where relevant. A source becoming unavailable does not erase its historical record. FI Loyalty does not provide legal, financial, regulatory, or investment advice.
Professional interests
Relevant affiliations, clients, commercial interests, compensation, sponsorships, or vendor relationships are disclosed when they could materially affect interpretation. Paid placement is not part of the current product.
Corrections and feedback
Material corrections remain visible.
FI Loyalty preserves correction history rather than silently rewriting the record. Withdrawn items remain documented internally with the reason for withdrawal.
